Types of Industrial Valves

Valves would be known as the devicesthat can control the flow of fluids either they are in liquid or gaseous materials. Valves can be used for many different purposes from medical disposables to giant oil plants and these purposes vary valves from smaller to the giant one. If we talk about working of the valves so it is designed as like the valves in human bodies that regulate the flow of blood through heart pumping to other parts of body. There are so many types of valves you may found varied according to their functionalities whereas some of the common types are as follows:

Ball Valves

Ball valves are most commonly used valves that can be seen in many household and commercial applications. Basically, ball valve consists of a body which contains a ball at the center to regulate the flow of fluids, a horizontal lever is used to instruct the valve where to move and a stem at the top holding both lever and ball.China is biggest manufacturers of Ball Valves in the world with thousands of registered suppliers.

Check Valves

Check valves is considered as second most common type of valve that can be seen in most of the routine applications. Check valves are usually simple valves used to control the flow of fluids from one side and these valves are also consisted of two-ports body, one for the entrance of fluid while other for the exit.Check valves can be found in many materials from stainless steel to plastics according to different applications.

Check Valve

Diaphragm Valves

Diaphragm valves are also known as membrane valves have two or more ports to control the fluids in different locations. Diaphragm valves have two common types one is “weir” and the second one is “straight-through”. Diaphragm valves mostly can be seen in the tank-bottom valves and cannula is one of the great examples of diaphragm valve.

Diaphragm Valves

Disk Valves

Disk valves are commonly known as the valves that can be operated through discs either these discs open and close in linear or they rotate in up and down position. Check-valves are also disc valves because the linear movement disc controls the flow of fluids whether globe valves have the rotating disc for fluid controlling.

Disk Valve

Gate Valves

Gate valve is generally made up of metals like stainless steel and it is one of the oldest valve types that regulate the fluids according to your demands. Gate valves consist of door vertically attached to the stem, when lever rotates the door blocks and releases the pass-away. Gate valves can be used for many domestic and commercial purposes for controlling gases to oil rigs and sewerage pipes.

Gate Valve

Hydraulic Valves

Hydraulic valves are very heavy duty valves used to control the fluids either they are highly pressurized or required different flowing directions. Hydraulic valves varied into some sub types according to uses like pressure control, flow control and direction control valves. Moreover, these valves are classified into more varieties according to operations like direct, pilot, mutual, open control and servo control valve.

Hydraulic Valves

Needle Valves

Needle valves are one of the comprehensive types of valve used to control high pressure fluids. Needle valves consist of a needle style plunger installed vertically or horizontally with the stem and used to regulate the speed of fluids. Needle valve can be operated through rotational movement and it is mainly used in domestic and commercial applications to control the flow of gases.

Needle Valve

Pneumatic Valves

As of its name, pneumatic valves have buttons on the head of stems that direct the gas to release or block the pressure of fluids. Pneumatic valves can only control the two-ports one for the entrance and one for the flow of fluid. Pneumatic valves may available in different materials from plastic to metal according to variety of uses from medical to industrial.

Pneumatic Valves

Solenoid Valves

Solenoid valves are basically electromechanical valves used to control the fluid via easy button operations. Solenoid valves would be pneumatic or hydraulic valve depends upon purpose. Solenoid valve has electric button instead of stem, when operator presses the button it directs the diaphragms to move up and release the pressure from fluids.

Solenoid Valve

Vacuum Valves

Vacuum valve acts as an industrial junk collection tools and also seen in the automotive as a signal and releaser for vacuum devices. Vacuum valve works automatically and mostly used for gas stationswhere it pumps the air into vacuum space and forward it from exit point. Vacuum valves require quality of production so many China valves manufacturers produce these valves on vast basis.

Vacuum Valves

Valve Parts

Valves majorly consist of 7 parts including body, bonnet, stem, actuator, packing, seat and disk. Body contains whole of the elements of valves that control and operate the whole processes of fluids. The cover at the opening of the valve called bonnet, it is the main part where stem and lever is installed.Stem is operational part that connects the actuator or lever to disk or ball and works on operator instructions.Actuator or lever is a handle for operator and works for operations with ball and stem. Packing is the seal that controls the overflow of fluids from valve and disks are the plates and sometimes balls that control the flow of fluids by working as a main barrier.

Valve Parts
Hence every type of valve has its own importance in the market according to operations to different sectors either they are industrial, medical, household or constructive. These valves work accurately where they need while the fluids are feeling to cross the barriers.
