Commonly Used International Shipping Terms
It took me a long time to understand shipping terms and jargon such as CIF, L/C, AWB etc etc. Now, I have good collection of terms and I think this the best time that I should share my collection here.
AWB - Air waybill
BCL - Bank Confirmation Letter
B/L or BOL - Bill of Lading
CIF - Cost, Insurance, Freight
COD - Cash on delivery
COGS - Cost of Goods Sold
DDP - Delivered Duty Paid
L/C - Letter of Credit
LOI - Letter of Intent
NAFTA - North American Free Trade Agreement
NCND(A) - Non-Circumvention Non-Disclosure (Agreement)
P.O.D. - Proof of Delivery
POD - Proof of Deposit
T/T - Telegraphic Transfer
