
Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry enjoys singular distinction of being the premier Chamber of Pakistan, representing the mainstream of economic activities by virtue of its location in the industrial and commercial hub of the country. It was established in 1959 through the amalgamation of four trade bodies in Karachi at that time, namely, the Pakistan Merchants Association, Buyers and Shipper Chamber of Commerce Pakistan and All Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. KCCI and its building’s history date back to 8th July 1934 when Mahatma Gandhi laid the foundation stone of Karachi Indian Merchants Association. KCCI building is a historic monument and the one and only building in Pakistan whose foundation stone was laid by Mahatma Gandhi.KCCI Membership base:-
Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry has currently over 18,000 registered members both industrialists and traders. Seven Industrial Town Associations of Karachi vis-à-vis SITE Association of Industry, Korangi Association of Trade & Industry, Landhi Association of Trade & Industry, North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry, Federal ‘B’ Area Association of Trade & Industry, S.I.T.E. Super Highway Association of Industry & Bin Qasim Association of Trade & Industry having their own membership are affiliated with this Chamber. Subsequently, with the affiliated town associations, the effective membership of KCCI is more than 50,000.
